Job Description
Fully Australian-owned, our client is seeking an exceptional Garment Technician to perform all functions working with tailored and sportswear clothing.  Working very closely with the Design Team, you will be responsible for  the following:
POSITION PURPOSE
This position is pivotal in ensuring that all products manufactured by and for my client, adhere to established quality standards. The role involves developing policies and overseeing the UG Sieve (Standard) System to maintain consistency in size, style, and colour.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Production
Reviews develops, and presents to business the client’s standards for size
Confirms client’s requirements and standardisation of product code system as per below:
- Life-size body (conformity to sell for wearability)
- Mannequin (body size)
- Block (template fit)
- Model (shape)
- Variants (features & styling)
- Styles (variable BOM’s differences)
Reviews Lectra systems of patterns and ensures the relationship between China and Australia is aligned
Works with the Product Manager to review and archive/delete ‘dead’ styles
Produces and reviews workbooks for all products within the client’s range
Develops workbook and manufacturing specification best practice
Assists in the product development process of new products ensuring they are manufactured to specification and standards
Effectively manages and controls product/design changes
Quality Assurance
Develop and implement quality assurance policies.
Implements quality production specification, process, plant, material
Implements and maintains quality procedures and technical specifications including workbooks and manufacturing specifications
Develops and maintains acceptable quality standards for the business including colours, fabric and construction of garments
Prioritize and investigate any quality concerns /issues that arise.
Conduct onsite and off-site (store level) investigations to address quality issues.
Implement action plans to resolve the issue.
Advise relevant team members and ensure timely responses to quality issues.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date data in relevant systems e.g. AX, CRM, POS, ELMO
Shares relevant data and information to inform business decisions
Bring to the attention of your manager any concerns about data accuracy or insights that impact the business
Other Duties
Undertakes other duties within the employee’s skills and experience as directed by your manager
POSITION COMPETENCIES
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
5 years textile engineering or similar experience including apparel construction, textile and fabric construction, pattern marking, product development
Demonstrated project management and compliance experience
Apparel production experience with exposure to Lectra or similar garment software
Competent in Illustrator, Microsoft Office, and Teams.
Current driver’s license is essential.
Previous experience working in the apparel industry is essential, with experience in retail, logistics or manufacturing environments highly regarded
Tertiary qualification in design and garment manufacturing
Fluent in English with (Chinese as an advantage)
Working With Children Permit and Police Check
