Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE:

This role will be responsible for altering, repairing, or modifying garments based on the specifications, needs, and preferences. In particular hemming pants/trousers for online orders at the warehouse in West Melbourne.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES/ OUTPUTS:

• Precisely sew garments that meet measurements and follow standard manufacturing methods.

• Speed is necessary but accuracy and quality is most important.

• Thread machines and replace needles when needed.

• Maintain proper care and maintenance of sewing machines

• Modifying garments according to the instructions, which includes tapering pant legs, lining sheer garments, removing pockets, and adding padding.

• Altering garments to improve comfort and fit, which includes shortening sleeves or straps, narrowing lapels, as well as taking in or letting out seams.

• Helping out with online returns process also.

CONTEXT / SCOPE:

· This role will be responsible for altering, repairing, or modifying garments based on the specifications, needs, and preferences. In particular hemming pants for online orders at our warehouse in Truganina.

· Applicants must be confident performing basic garment repairs and alterations be familiar with sewing machines, industrial machines and experience in making clothing.

Skills:

· Experience operating an INDUSTRIAL sewing machine required.

· Strong knowledge of fabrics as well as clothing design and construction.

· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

· Outstanding sewing skills.

Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of fabrics as well as clothing design and construction

Experience:

• Experience operating an INDUSTRIAL sewing machine required.
